Dear parents,
The bronchiolitis virus is hitting hard our nursery little protégés at the moment.
Fortunately, bronchiolitis is usually benign, but it can develop into respiratory distress and require hospitalisation. Bronchiolitis usually starts as a common cold or nasopharyngitis with a low-grade fever, runny nose and dry cough. A few days later, breathing becomes more difficult, faster and wheezier. In addition, the baby finds it difficult to drink and eat. These symptoms should not be taken lightly and should lead to the child being shown to the pediatrician. Bronchiolitis is not an illness that requires the eviction of the child from the childcare center as long as he is able to follow the collective rhythm. However, in the acute phase and if the symptoms are important, it is not advisable to go to a collectivity as this favours the spread of the illness.
As this virus can survive for several hours on objects and surfaces, we have reintroduced the 24-hour quarantine measure for objects available to children. Particular attention is paid to the disinfection of the surfaces used and to keeping the exchange of toys to a minimum.
We look forward to seeing all the children back in good shape as soon as possible.
